I want that choice to be a creative decision that's up to me, not dictated by what YouTube algorithm supposedly wants.
Sometimes I make stuff that's extremely wholesome and SFW, and sometimes I don't. And as I mentioned above, at least for now, sponsors are out. Like many other non-PG, primarily short-form video channels on YouTube, I make basically nothing from ad revenue because my content is frequently "not advertiser friendly" or too short to be lucrative for ads. I do this at least 5 days a week, all year long, and I've been doing it that way since 2014. And pro audio equipment and high-end computers ain't cheap! There are many things I'd like to try, and more risks I'd like to take, but I've never had the budgets to do so. I need to pay video editors/graphic designers in order to make my videos/music releases/merch possible. My subscriber count continues to slowly grow while my reach only continues to shrink, and it's extremely frustrating and disheartening. As some of you may have noticed, I had two sponsored videos in 2020, but lost both sponsors after neither video performed well. You're joining up with other incredibly kind patrons to help me create and grow, and survive on a platform that has been burying my videos for years (and it's been even worse lately), despite my best efforts to break through. OKAY, SO THAT'S AN INTRO-WHAT'S THE " POINT" OF THIS PATREON? I'm proud and extremely grateful that Hot Dad is my job, and I can confidently say that that's only been possible because of my beautiful patrons.
